Season 3 is live!
28th Feb Edit:
Due to very direct feedback from many players we have spent a week reviewing and revamping the Global Aim Rank games. Essentially they were not as satisfying to play as we had originally hoped. It turns out that the the 'extensive community feedback' mentioned below was clearly not as extensive as we believed.
We took the feedback onboard and have replaced the games. Hopefully you'll find them much more fun to grind. Sorry for the disruption and to those players who loved the games we originally put forth (these still exist on the site) - we hope you enjoy these new ones. And believe me, they will not be changing for a little while now.
Get training!
Original Post Intro
Since the start of the year we’ve been working hard at Aiming.pro to bring you a fresh new season.
One of the big things we realised from season 2 was there were just too many drills. We had a hope each of the skill areas might become a competitive scene in itself. So if you were only interested in Tracking, you could focus on the Tracking playlist assessments to show to the world your godlike skills. It didn’t play out this way. Our most keen users enjoyed these drills, but there’s only so many assessments you can ask a more casual player to focus on.
For season 3 we took the extra step of getting extensive community feedback on the drills. After some lively debate we feel we’ve got to a great set of drills that play really nicely and are accessible to casual players while offering a high skill cap for elite players. Thank you community - we love you!
Go play it right now: Global Aim Rank
Global Aim Rank & Season 3
Global Aim Rank - this is a set of 4 drills designed to test a range of aiming skills. This rank will follow you around the site and we will endeavour to not change the drills too often to prevent mass rank resets. These should be accessible for all players but will allow the best players to shine.
Season 3 - this is a set of 8 drills created to be highly competitive. We weren’t so concerned with player accessibility here. These drills are for the aimers who want to smash leaderboards. We hope to refresh these regularly with new seasons to keep a fresh competitive vibe going.
Global Aim Rank
Target Frenzy - It’s back, even more frantic than ever! This is the true test of mouse speed, movement efficiency and effective route planning.
Switching Frenzy - Upgrade on season 2 Target Switching. Test your ability to perform frequent switches between targets, each with precision and intent.
Tracking - Multi-behaviour drill which focuses on your ability to react to unpredictable target behaviour changes.
Progressive Flicks - Single target drill which gets progressively harder. Targets get smaller and further away over time, making each flick more difficult.
Season 3
Evasive drones - Click-Timing mode with moving targets. Test your ability to read target vectors, make efficient movements, react to unpredictable changes and adapt your route to be as efficient as possible.
Wide Wall 5 Targets - Click-Timing mode with stationary targets. Test your ability to regulate your grip, movement and clicking finger. Plan a solid route, taking as little effort as possible to move to each target.
Switch Precision - Test your skill when it comes to quick target switching without undershooting or overshooting the target. Due to the low health and slow moving nature of the target you cannot move too quickly to a target but you cannot move slowly either.
Wide Wall Switching - Headshot based target switching drill that focuses on horizontal switches.
Precision Tracking - Test your biomechanics and target reading. The target will never make harsh turns, only smooth movements. It is your task to read these movements and track them as smoothly as possible.
Varied Tracking - Remaster of the Season 2 Tracking mode. Target that will move in a large horizontal room, performing fast and unpredictable strafes at unpredictable intervals. You must anticipate target changes and behaviour changes in order to prevail.
4 Target Precision - Ultimate test of precise and balanced movement. These stationary targets spawn across a uniform wall testing horizontal and vertical movements equally.
Flickshot - Focus on a random spawning target in a random spawning map. There is no progressive nature, just a totally random single target flick mode.
What’s Next
For Season 3 we put significant time into creating new game features. A big one was circular movement patterns (rather than more like straight line movement in x,y,z plane) - unfortunately we didn’t get these quite right, but we know how to fix it!
We created a great system to allow significant behaviour changes to occur during a drill - this has got tonnes of potential and we’re looking forward to building this out further.
We hope this new structure of the Global Aim Rank vs Season X will allow us to much more rapidly refresh seasons in future which will be a boon to the more competitive players on Aiming.pro.
Thanks for reading - hope you all enjoy the new drills. Would love to hear your feedback!
